How to Get Purple Smokey Eyes

To start, Kelsey adds a generous amount of Avon True Color Flawless Loose Powder under the eye to catch any eyeshadow fallout. To create the purple smokey eye, Kelsey uses the purple tones of the Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Romantic Mauves. Begin by applying the #1 lightest purple shade with a flat brush on the entire lid, starting at the crease and working your way up to the brow. Apply the #2 shadow shade from the Avon Eyeshadow Quad just on the lid. Use the #3 shade in the outer corners and inner corner of the eye leaving the center of the eye light. Use the #4 shade in the outer corners and follow the lash line to intensify the color on the lid. Kelsey also uses the #4 shade on the bottom lash line to smoke out the color underneath. To make the purple eyeshadow pop, press the #1 shade again on the lid. Line the lash line with True Color Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Sugar Plum and blend it with your finger or brush to give it a smokey effect. To finish the eyes, use Avon True Color SuperExtend Nourishing Mascara on the top & bottom lashes. The finishing touch for this trendy look is the lips. To balance out the dramatic eye, Kelsey chose a pretty pink shade of Avon True Color Lip Crayon in Risque Rose. To shop these products check out my e-store here.

Books every black woman should read

There is no single answer to this question — and that's the point. The Black female experience is vast, multifaceted, and deeply individual. It spans generations of resilience, joy, trauma, healing, and transformation. That's why the most honest answer isn't one title but a curated collection: books that speak to different parts of your journey, wherever you are in it. Whether you're looking for something to heal you, something to challenge you, or something to see yourself reflected back in full — this reading list was built for you. 🎧 Prefer to listen? Every book on this list is available on Audible — and many are narrated by Black women authors and performers. There's something extraordinary about hearing Their Eyes Were Watching God read aloud. 3 months for .99/mo  CLICK HERE  → Historical Resilience & Self-Discovery Stories that trace the roots — and the long road to knowing yourself.
